The official launch of the Life After Coal programme took place at the Marshal’s Office of the Greater Poland Region in Poznan. More than 30 municipalities will participate in the project. The main goal is to achieve climate neutrality in Eastern Greater Poland.

Implementation will begin in January 2023 and last nine years. The main goal is to achieve climate neutrality in the Eastern Greater Poland. There will be a climate advisor in each municipality participating in the programme. It will help residents make the transition to green energy sources.
Residents very often do not have the knowledge, so this climate advisor that will be in place will be strictly an advisor. Not sitting behind a desk, but going out to the residents and saying – listen, you can change your energy sources (…)
That was stated by Maciej Sytek, President of the Management Board of the Regional Development Agency S.A. in Konin and Plenipotentiary of the Greater Poland Voivodeship Government for the Restructuring of Eastern Greater Poalnd. He added that entrepreneurs have great needs in the field of ecology.
The project has developed proven solutions and standards in the field of climate neutrality that can be transferred and implemented in other regions of Poland and the European Union. The aim is to scale up activities and maximise impact at national and European level.
In the face of global climate challenges, the energy transition is no longer just a trend but a necessity. The processes occurring within these changes also impact the job market, creating new “green” positions.
